Meet Lisette

My Journey

It was my own two postpartum experiences that led me to become a postpartum doula. I realized just how important it is to surround new parents during the postpartum period.

I had two very different postpartum experiences. My first was riddled with uncertainty and loneliness, resulting in Postpartum Mood Disorder. I had prepared myself for the pregnancy and birth, but had neglected to plan for those early days and weeks with a tiny human. For my second, I dedicated myself to building my own village of support. These invaluable supports I brought together completed a beautiful postpartum experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic made it obvious that parents weren’t doing ok. Since starting my journey I have already learned so much and am excited to bring my knowledge and passion to your first forty days with a newborn.

I also co-founded Together: For Perinatal Mental Health, a local organization that raises awareness and provides support for Perinatal Mental Health in Waterloo Region.
